A Letter to our Local Authors

Dear Author,

Congratulations on publishing a book! We appreciate the hard work, dedication and sacrifice it takes to bring a completed book to fruition. We want to celebrate and support you in bringing your efforts to fellow book lovers.

Stocking your book:

As you know, we are a small independent store and as you can imagine we receive an abundance of requests. If we had unlimited shelf space, we would carry multiple copies of all books ever written!

If you would like your book to be carried at Hummingbird, you are welcome to donate a copy to the store and we will put it in the Local Author section for at least three months. If it sells, then we will restock it, if it is available from Ingram. We only buy books from Ingram.

Author events:

My vision for Hummingbird Books is to be a welcoming gathering place for our community, where we can celebrate the incredible work of authors like you. If you would like host a book event, we welcome that opportunity. The store is available for author events on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7 pm. To help create a mutually successful event, we’ve established a minimum threshold for the sale of 30 hardcover books (at an estimated $30 per book).
